TYPES OF RAIL COACHES (RAILWAYS PASSENGER'S DUTY)


As in the previous post, we have gone through the types of wagons used in the Indian railways which plays its major role in transportation of goods at a large scale. Now let us go through the type of coaches used in the INDIAN RAILWAYS which daily takes millions of passengers to its destination. These different coaches were designed according to their latest technologies, comfort, high speed attainment and various facilities provided for the passengers. Let us go through each of these coaches in brief:


(A). ICF BLUE COACHES

The ICF coaches is the most commonly used coaches in the Indian Railway. These coaches were constructed with mild steel which were considered as one of the oldest coaches being in use till today. These coaches were in blue color with white strips over the windows.
These coaches were constructed in PERAMBUR, CHENNAI, INDIA. The first ICF coaches were flagged of by prime minister JAWAHARLAL NEHRU on 2 OCTOBER, 1995. It can go at a max speed of 120km/hr.




(B). RAJDHANI COACHES

The RAJDHANI COACHES (fully AC) are the first LHB coaches built in KAPURTHALA, INDIA. The RAJDHANI EXPRESS becomes the first ever series of VIP trains which serves to join the national capital, DELHI to the various capitals of states with a   max. speed of 140km/hr. The frame of these coaches was again made up of aluminium which makes it very light. The first Rajdhani express flags of from NEW DELHI to HOWRAH in 1969.





(C). SHATABDI COACHES

The SHATABDI COACHES (fully AC) were the second built LHB coaches in INDIA after RAJDHANI coaches and used for short-distance journey. They have given second preference after Rajdhanis’ with complete chair car system having comfortable seats. They became operational on 1988 and joins the capital, DELHI with various major cities of the state. The fastest Shatabdi Express becomes BHOPAL SHATABDI at speed of 155km/hr and second fastest train after GATIMAN EXPRESS.





(D). GATIMAN COACHES

The GATIMAN COACHES (fully AC) are the fastest coaches being run on Railway tracks. These are the lightest aluminium coaches which runs between HAZRAT NIZZAMUDIN and AGRA and cover this distance in just 90 minutes at a top speed of 160km/hr. These semi-high speeds become first operational on 5 APRIL 2016.






(E). GARIBRATH COACHES

The GARIBRATH COACHES (fully AC) is again a type of LHB coaches which becomes most popular coaches among passengers. The GARIBRATH EXPRESS actually provides subsidized priced air-conditioned long-distance travel having price half of that of ordinary AC coaches. They are comfortable coaches except having the facility of curtains and first started on 2005.







(F). DURONTO COACHES

The DURONTO COACHES are long distance trains which joins the major cities of states. They have the beautiful outer design and comes in variant of both AC and NON AC coaches. They are first operational on OCTOBER, 1995.






(G). DOUBLE DECCKER COACHES

 The DOUBLE DECCKER COACHES AIR CONDITIONED are the double- floored air-conditioned coaches having a large seating capacity of around 190 passengers with the short-distance journey. They have long height with red and yellow graphics and operational on year 2011.





(H). MAHAMANA COACHES

The MAHAMANA COACHES are violet coloured coaches with AC and NO-AC variants having the first largest facilitated train with comfortable seats, unique bottle holder, staircase etc. which becomes operational on 2015 by prime minister NARENDRA MODI between NEW-DELHI and VARANASI.






(I). HUMSAFAR COACHES

The HUMSAFAR COACHES are completely 3-tier AC coaches being used for the long-distance journeys. The facilities provided are very unique which is not found in any coaches. It has the facility of coffee vending machine, fire detection system, automatic door closing, LED light for informational service along with announcement system, fire detection system and the facility of heating and refrigeration.







(J).TEJAS COACHES

The TEJAS COACHES are the fully AIR-CONDITIONED coaches which provide the facilities of complete entairtainement to its passengers during their journey. These coaches are AC CHAIR CARS which is having a special feature of TV SCEENS at the back of each seat. Also each coaches has calling attendant bell service at the top of each seat. Also each toilet has the facility of automatic soap dispenser and automatic hand dryer.






(K). ANTODAYA COACHES

The ANTODAYA COACHES are the evolution to old general coaches for increasing the comfort of poor passengers. The Antodaya coaches generally have the rubber comfortable seats and large area for accumulation of large number of passengers. The Antodaya coaches are actually the new built version of old general ICF coaches along with the manufacture of DEEN DAYALU COACHES.





(H). ANUBHUTI COACHES

The ANUBHUTI COACHES are the LHB, AIR-CONDITIONED coaches which is the most recent development of Indian Railways. These coaches were actually manufactured to 'ANUBHUTI' the airplane journey or to 'feel the airplane in the railways'. This coaches have same specifications as TEJAS COACHES with additional of foldable tray which can be folded inside the chair.
